FullBucket TEVA Giving Trip Fall 2016
January 30, 2020
Continuing our mantra of Doing Good, FullBucket Co-Founders Dr. Rob Franklin, Dr. Keith Latson and Robo Hendrickson are headed back to Guatemala to provide hands-on support for malnourished, sick and overworked equids.

Dr. Rob will lead two volunteer groups comprised of veterinarians, veterinary students and animal health professionals over the course of two weeks. They’ll share the challenging, yet rewarding, task of treating local horses and donkeys that are badly in need of medical attention. In addition, they’ll help train local veterinarians in these procedures.

To proactively identify and address issues of importance to equine veterinarians and horse show entities; to provide leadership and expertise on all aspects of the performance horse that affect the health & welfare of the horse and the integrity of the competition; to communicate to AAEP members and other stakeholders AAEP positions and recommendations on those issues; and, to educate AAEP members and stakeholders on best practices and ethical care of the performance horse.

The cobblestone streets of Antigua, Guatemala whisper stories of colonial past, but today they're witnessing a different kind of history in the making. As the morning mist lifted over the UNESCO Heritage Site, our team of veterinarians, specialists, and students gathered for what marks our 25th service trip to the area - the 2025 Texas Equitarian Project. Thirteen years of dedication has led us to this moment, each return visit building upon the foundation laid by previous teams’ contributions.
